In December 2008, Alberta Health and Wellness announced the Alberta Pharmaceutical Strategy to help make drug coverage more accessible, sustainable and affordable for all Albertans. The strategy included two phases. The second phase, announced in October 2009, focuses on generic drug prices and expanding the roles of pharmacists. This fact sheet focuses on how this second phase of the strategy will affect pharmacists and pharmacies.
