Description

This Directive establishes the policy and identifies the circumstances under which Alberta Environment and Parks or the Alberta Energy Regulator will consider applications for riverbed armouring of pipelines that do not meet scour depth requirements under the Code of Practice for Pipelines and Telecommunication Lines Crossing a Water Body. The policy intent is to provide some flexibility for pipelines installed prior to the adoption of the Code while maintaining public safety and minimizing ecological risk.
