Description

The mission of the Alberta Municipal Financing Corporation, a non-profit corporation established under the Alberta Municipal Financing Corporation Act, was to provide shareholders within the Province of Alberta with flexible funding for capital projects on a prudent basis. From 2003 on, the function continued through the Alberta Capital Finance Authority, which dissolved in 2020. The function was continued through the Government of Alberta as Loans to Local Authorities.

Description

Soil erosion has been long been recognized as a potential problem in Alberta. Prior to this study, focus had been mainly on soil erosion caused by wind. This study looks at water erosion in Alberta, and investigates the use of Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) as a method for assessing water erosion. This report describes the adaptation of USLE factors to Alberta conditions. A major modification was made to the precipitation component to recognize the contribution of spring snow melt.
