Local Family and Community Support Services programs and projects address local priorities based on social needs. When developing programs and projects, outcomes must be identified that relate the program’s statement of need and overall goal, and measures must be included as a way of evaluating the effectiveness of the program. This document provides a measures bank that can be used for this purpose, and includes instructions on how to integrate these measures into a program logic model.

The review also looked at the unique challenges of rural FCSS programs, as well as the accountability of FCSS programs and their ability to use their partnerships and connection in the community to leverage additional funds.

As a result of this research, a set of six papers were released in the Working Together series. This paper, the seventh in the series, follows up on this previous research to look at how Family and Community Support Services works with the justice system.

In 1998-1999, the FCSS Association of Alberta conducted a research project to learn the experiences of Family and Community Support Services programs in working with others. As a result of this research, a set of six papers were released in the Working Together series. This paper, the fourth in the series, discusses how FCSS can work in cooperation with local agencies and community groups to enhance the social well-being of individuals and families through promotion or intervention strategies provided at the earliest opportunity.
