The shelter accommodation expectations include guidelines relating to safety and security, maintaining the shelter's physical environment, guest rights and responsibilities, professional conduct, employment expectations, and various aspects of service delivery. Shelter operators undergo an annual review to ensure they have policies and practices in place that satisfy these expectations.

Description

The purpose of this guideline is to outline program requirements and eligibility criteria for interested participants, employers and providers for the Workplace Training Program. This is a participant-centred program that provides employer-delivered incremental training, work-site training and paid work experience for participants to obtain and maintain a job that would not otherwise occur. The objective of the program is to assist participants who are unemployed to acquire workplace and occupation-related skills required in the local labour market, and to obtain and maintain sustainable employment.
