Description

The Public Lands Administration Regulation, or PLAR, is a provincial law of general application that applies to all persons including aboriginal peoples. However, aboriginal peoples do enjoy constitutionally protected rights to some activities on provincial Crown land in Alberta, such as hunting, fishing, and trapping for food. As a result, portions of PLAR may not be applicable to such persons doing these activities. This document sets out how PLAR implementation should be reconciled with these rights.
