To support a growing visitor economy, Alberta has launched a long-term provincial tourism strategy to share Alberta's story and history with the world. The tourism strategy will help Alberta's visitor economy reach $25 billion in yearly visitor expenditures by 2035. The strategy focuses on five key pillars of leadership and alignment, competitive product, people and careers, expansion of access, and Indigenous tourism to ensure that the provinces visitor economy reaches new heights.

Topics covered in the various surveys include: arts and culture, volunteering, cultural industries, heritage sites, gender-based violence, and recreation and sport. Results provide insight into emerging trends, help monitor the effectiveness of programs and services and inform decisions by enhancing the Government of Alberta's understanding of the needs of Albertans.

Environmental assessment registry documents pertaining to the proposed Stone Creek Resorts Inc. Gondola project. The proposal is to construct and operate an aerial passenger ropeway system along with a day lodge, trail networks, viewing platforms, suspension bridge and associated utility services infrastructure as part of the Silvertip Integrated Village Resort. The proposed passenger aerial gondola would connect the base area of the Silvertip Resort to an upper terminal on the summit ridge of Mount Lady MacDonald, via a mid-station integrated with the Silvertip Resort Village. The annual domestic visitor profiles by region are based on analysis of the National Travel Survey (NTS) conducted by Statistics Canada. The NTS provides tourism information for travel in Alberta by domestic visitors from Alberta and other parts of Canada, and includes same-day and overnight trips for Albertans and residents from other parts of Canada. Detailed estimates for international visitors are not available at the provincial and tourism regional level due to small sample sizes and limited data from the Visitor Travel Survey (VTS). Detailed characteristics are only available for Canadian visitors.
