Alberta’s government has provided written notice to the federal government that it is ending an agreement with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to use provincial correctional centres to house people being detained on immigration matters. This letter extends the current agreement to June 30, 2023, giving the federal government an additional three months to make alternate arrangements for CBSA detainees in provincial facilities.

The release presents data on two broad themes: Immigration and Ethnocultural Diversity and Aboriginal Peoples in Canada.
