Description

This MO suspends all fire permits, requires all outdoor fires to be extinguished, and prohibits the lighting of outdoor fires. This Order applies to Fire Control Zones 1 to 6, parts of 7, and 8 to 10.

Two critical questions often arise in forest management pertaining to the accuracy and suitability of any new forest inventory technique at the tree or stand level: how can we judge whether a new inventory technique is valid or of acceptable accuracy; and how can we compare if a new inventory technique agrees with or is better than an existing one. This technical document describes the procedures and the statistical methods that collectively provide the tools to address and answer these questions.

The forest management planning area under consideration is FMA 0900045 allocated to Mercer Peace River Pulp Ltd. The FMP covers Forest Management Unit P19 located entirely within the Upper and Lower Peace Land-Use Framework planning regions in northern Alberta; it falls within the Dry Mixedwood, Central Mixedwood, Upper Boreal Highlands and Lower Boreal Highlands natural subregions.

This addendum outlines Forest Management Plan-specific ground rules which apply to Quota Holders only in operations outlined in Forest Management Agreement 7500020. These rules are in addition to the Alberta Timber Harvest Planning and Operating Ground Rules 2022. Where a rule in the Addendum and a rule in the Provincial OGR relate to the same subject matter or objective, the rule in the Addendum governs. FMP-specific addendums are supplemental to the OGRs and will be negotiated with the applicable FMA holder where additional ground rules are needed to address specific strategies in an FMP or unique physical or non-physical landscape attributes. These are meant to be a small list related to specific FMP requirements and not a preferred deviation or exceptions from the provincial OGRs.
