Description

This document provided comprehensive specifications and operational guidelines for fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, and airtankers used by the Alberta Forest Service. The manual assisted Provincial Headquarters Aircraft Dispatchers, Forest Aircraft Dispatchers, Fire Control Officers, Fire Control Technicians, and other authorized personnel in selecting the best aircraft for specific tasks, considering type, capacity, and capability. It included historical context, such as the use of aircraft for fire patrols since 1920, and detailed technical data for each aircraft model, with all measurements in Imperial units and metric equivalents. The manual also explained abbreviations like JP 4 and provided formulae for payload calculations and conversion between units.
