Description
This document established mandatory standards for supportive living accommodation in Alberta, focusing on safety, quality, and resident well-being. Eight themes were addressed: physical environment, hospitality, safety, personal services, coordination and referral, residential services, human resources, and management. Operators were required to comply with fire safety, hygiene, nutritious meals, emergency preparedness, resident rights, and staff qualifications. The standards mandated regular assessments, clear policies, and ongoing quality improvement, referencing relevant provincial and federal legislation. The goal was to provide a safe, comfortable, and respectful home-like environment for all residents.
