Description

This document summarizes potential wildlife issues associated with new wind energy developments in Alberta, and provides guidelines for minimizing impacts of such projects on wildlife. It is designed to guide Fish and Wildlife Division staff in their advisory role to wind energy developers seeking consultation, in responding to stakeholder inquiries related to regulatory applications, and to help standardize their responses to wind energy applications submitted to the Alberta Energy Utilities Board. The document will also serve as a resource for the wind energy industry, their wildlife consultants, and the general public.
