Upper Athabasca Region water supply and allocation study : final report

Description

This study provides an overview of streamflows and water allocations in the Upper Athabasca Region of Alberta, which encompasses the upper catchment of the Athabasca River. The overall objective was to gain a better understanding of the current state of surface water resources in the region by completing an analysis of historical streamflow and surface water allocations over the most recent, minimum 30-year period for which a complete and reliable dataset is available (1983 to 2013 for streamflows, and 1983 to 2017 for allocation data). It is important to note that the scope of this study was limited to surface water and does not include any analysis or consideration of groundwater supply and allocations.
