Description

Presents the results of a study to locate accumulations of naturally-occurring radioactive material in surface production equipment at the Turner Valley gas plant. Results show that there is no evidence of technically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive material. The Turner Valley gas plant, western Canada’s first natural gas processing and refining facility and the site of Alberta’s first major oil and gas discovery, is a provincial historic resource and a national historic site.
