Review of Alberta's trade in beef and live cattle, first half of 2003 (January to June)

Description

This report was prepared in light of the bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) incident in Alberta and the closure of international borders to Canadian beef and live cattle on May 20, 2003. The purpose of this report is to provide detailed information on Alberta and Canada exports and imports of beef and live cattle on a monthly basis from January to June 2003. Comparable data for the same period of 2002 are also provided. The information is presented in the form of statistical tables, charts and highlights reviewing Alberta trade in beef and live cattle in the first half of 2003.
