Description
This Act allows the Lieutenant Governor in Council to order a referendum on constitutional questions and requires a referendum before the Legislative Assembly can vote on any resolution authorizing an amendment to the Constitution of Canada. The Act also stipulates how the referendum must be conducted and when it will be considered binding.
