Public health alert : Syphilis outbreak

Description

This bulletin was sent to all physicians, nurse practitioners and midwives to alert them to a syphilis outbreak declared by the Provincial Health Officer, Alberta Health and Wellness in March 2007, as a result of the dramatic increase in the number of infectious syphilis cases identified during the previous year. The notice explained who should be screened, what tests should be used, and how to treat identified cases of syphilis.
