Proponent-led Indigenous consultation : information sharing and exploring concerns for forestry planning & operations

The Ministry of Forestry and Parks is supplementing the Government of Alberta's Proponent Guide to First Nations and Metis Settlements Consultation Procedures to provide proponents further guidance and direction when consulting on plans and/or activities requiring approvals under the Forests Act and Forest and Prairie Protection Act, and/or associated policies and regulations. This document is in alignment with The Government of Alberta's policy on consultation with First Nations on land and natural resource management, 2013 and associated 2014 Guidelines, and The Government of Alberta's policy on consultation with Metis settlements on land and natural resource management, 2015 and associated 2016 Guidelines.
