Prohibited noxious weeds

Description

This set of information sheets will help users familiarize themselves with plants designated as prohibited noxious weeds in Alberta, to help avoid their introduction and minimize their spread. Weeds listed in the Alberta Weed Control Act as prohibited noxious and noxious are a threat to Alberta's environment, economy and society, and have the potential to degrade habitats, reduce biodiversity, increase erosion, cause wildfires, reduce property value, create obstacles to international trade and cause reduction in productivity of agricultural land. Under the Alberta Weed Control Act, prohibited noxious weeds need to be destroyed.
