Description
Provides general guidance on the recommended placement of traffic signs in Alberta. Proper positioning of signs is an important element in the overall control of traffic within a roadway network. When carefully planned and applied, it significantly improves the driver's ability to navigate through the network. Conversely, when neglected it may contribute to operational and safety problems. Part of a series of recommended practices for traffic control measures, including roadway signs and signals, pavement markings, traffic operations, roadside development and at-grade rail crossings.
