Description

With this order, standards listed in the attached schedule for the following equipment and personal protective equipment meet compliance requirements on work sites regulated by the Government of Alberta:

• Personal protective equipment for full body harness, lanyard, shock absorber, connectors, carabiners and snap hooks, fall arresters, self-retracting devices, and life safety rope.

• Inter-jurisdictional Recognitions provide flexibility by recognizing standards adopted in different Canadian jurisdictions. These may be issued where another jurisdiction’s standard appropriately protects the health and safety of workers in Alberta while also supporting interprovincial trade and labour mobility.

Usage Considerations

This allowance could become redundant if, at some future date, Part 5 of the Occupational Health and Safety Code is updated to recognize Confined Space Remote Monitoring Systems.
