New weight allowances for commercial vehicles with alternative fuel sources : hydrogen, electric, or other fuel types

Description

Alternative fuel systems such as electricity, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen, and hydrogen/diesel dual fuel, have heavier components than diesel engines and may exceed maximum legal weights. To encourage the broader use of these fuel types, Alberta Transportation is providing additional axle weight on these types of vehicles to offset the added weight of equipment.
