Description

After a significant period of consultation with municipalities, industry and Albertans, the Government of Alberta passed new legislation and developed new regulations to update the Municipal Government Act (MGA) and better reflect the needs of municipalities and Albertans. A series of implementation fact sheets have been developed to support the understanding and implementation of the new legislation by municipal elected officials, administrators, industry and the general public. These fact sheets cover changes to the Act as they pertain to the broad areas of governance, planning and development, and assessment and taxation.
