Description
This study presents calculated ground motions for 14 major dams owned by Alberta Environment, at 12 locations. The ground motions were calculated using a probabilistic seismic hazard analysis. The earthquake catalogue used in the analysis included all recorded earthquakes to the end of 2005, trimmed for magnitude completeness. This represents an additional 14 years of data compared to the most recent hazard data published by the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC).
