Low temperature properties of asphalt cements and mixtures used in the C-SHRP Lamont test road in Alberta

Description

Several vehicle rollovers occurred during the first 48 months of service of the Highway 2/3 interchange near Fort Macleod. Fluorescent yellow green retroreflective sheeting product was installed at the interchange, and this study evaluates the effectiveness of this in reducing vehicle speeds when approaching this curve. The use of these chevron signs at this location help improve motorist maneuvering through this curve. Similar FYG signage should be considered for locations where early detection is required to heighten the travelling public's awareness of an unfamiliar or non-typical condition.
