This report documents the presence of species of 236 moths and 16 butterflies and skippers in an area of aspen (Populus tremuloides) woods in south-central Alberta. To put things into perspective, Pohl et al (2010) document 2367 species of Lepidoptera for Alberta. Of the 14 major areas involved in the present study, four species of moths were found only in the aspen woods of the former Lloyd Lohr Farm, SE of Erskine - sp. nr. Caloptilia syringella (F.), Chionodes lugubrella (F.), Dichomeris bilobella (Zell.) and Ematurga amitaria (Gn.).
