Interim directive : pilot for reclaiming peatlands - decision framework and support tools for reclaiming well sites and access roads on public lands

Description

This interim directive would enable the Alberta Energy Regulator to accept, review and make decisions to change peatlands to forest lands. The intent of the pilot is to streamline decision processes while ensuring public lands continue to be managed with clear reclamation and restoration outcomes in mind. The interim directive is in effect for 18 months starting February 1, 2024 and expiring on July 31, 2025.
