Helicopter emergency medical services report 2021

Description

This report reviews the helicopter emergency medical services (HEMS) system in Alberta and provides recommendations for service planning and future policy work. Air ambulance, which includes HEMS, is an integral part of the overall provincial health and emergency medical services system, and is particularly vital in rural Alberta where access to critical care may not be available in a time-appropriate manner through the use of ground ambulance services.
