Description
This manual will assist returning officers and other election officials in municipalities across Alberta with their election processes and procedures. This document may also be accessed by members of the public and potential candidates who are seeking to better understand the election process. Originally issued November 2020. Updated and re-issued January 2021 to reflect modifications made to the Local Authorities Election Act in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the information in this guide is specific to the 2021 general election year only. The manual is to be used in conjunction with the Local Authorities Election Act and follows the various procedures as set out in legislation.
