Description
This study provides a high level assessment of opportunities and challenges in diverting food waste from landfill for Alberta's food processing and grocery sectors. The study also: identifies a number of commercial and near-commercial technologies available to convert food waste into energy and other products; reviews current methods of disposal; explores options such as reuse, recover, and recycle/repurpose; reviews activities in other jurisdictions; and considers clustering opportunities.
