Description
The Feeder Associations Guarantee Act authorizes the Minister of Finance to give guarantees to the financial institutions that lend money to the local feeder associations. A feeder association is a cooperative set up and managed by livestock producers that enters into agreements with its members for the members to grow, finish, or otherwise deal with livestock or livestock products owned by the association. The Act outlines the incorporation requirements for feeder associations and the purpose of the guaranteed loans. It also sets out the powers of the Minister, in administering the Act, to enter a location, review the records, and inspect livestock and livestock products.
