Description

Alberta Transportation's Environmental Management System (EMS) is an organizational approach to environmental management with the goal of making environmental considerations part of the department's projects and daily activities. The EMS Manual: outlines the roles and responsibilities of all personnel under the EMS; identifies the Alberta Transportation's key regulatory environmental responsibilities; provides details of procedures and practices designed to manage Alberta Transportation's potential environmental impacts; outlines the training expectations required to maintain and potentially improve Alberta Transportation's environmental performance; and outlines the process for inspection and monitoring of the key characteristics of Alberta Transportation's environmental activities.
