Enhanced oil recovery quantification protocol. Version 2.1

Description

Capturing carbon dioxide (CO2) that would otherwise be emitted to the atmosphere and utilizing it in CO2 Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) storage schemes can result in permanent net geological sequestration of CO2. EOR schemes are typically operated with externally-sourced CO2 from industrial processes or power generation that are unrelated to the operation of the EOR scheme. This quantification protocol establishes the methodology for quantifying the eligible greenhouse gas emission reductions through net geological sequestration of CO2 for EOR project activities.
