Description
This FOIP Bulletin is intended to assist public bodies in complying with their obligations under the FOIP Act by highlighting the access and privacy protection issues raised by e-mail. It does not address other management issues relating to e-mail, such as records management, e-mail monitoring or the development of a general policy on the use of e-mail. Information regarding these issues is available in the Guide to Managing Electronic Mail in the Government of Alberta, which is published on the Records and Information Management website. This Bulletin takes into consideration decisions issued by the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta up to December 31, 2008.
