Description

The purpose of these Guidelines is to provide assistance to police services in developing policy and procedure relating to the investigation of domestic violence. It is important for police services to consider the best practices outlined in the Guidelines. It is recognized that terms may vary amongst police services in Alberta and across the country, and includes terms such as domestic violence (DV), intimate partner violence (IPV), family violence (FV), domestic conflict, and violence against women (VAW).
