Description
As of January 1, 2020, the Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction automatically applies to facilities that emit 100,000 tonnes or more of carbon dioxide equivalent greenhouse gases. Oil and gas facilities under this threshold have the option to voluntarily become a regulated facility under TIER by becoming an aggregate facility. This fact sheet provides an overview of the benefits of being regulated, how to become a regulated facility, reduction requirements, and associated costs of being a regulated facility.
