As of September 1, 2019, the recruitment of board members to Alberta public agencies is overseen and coordinated centrally by the Public Agency Secretariat. This fact sheet explains the rationale for the centralization of recruitment, lists the principles followed for recruitment, and the roles and responsibilities of the various entities involved in the recruitment process.
