Canada Community-Building Fund allocations

Description

All municipalities and Metis Settlements are eligible for Canada Community-Building Fund (formerly Gas Tax Fund) funding. The program provides conditional grants for capital-related projects which meet program eligibility criteria. CCBF funding is allocated to municipalities on a per capita basis. The annual program budget is subject to Canada advising Alberta of the yearly provincial funding. Municipalities are advised of their annual CCBF funding allocations after Alberta's funding has been confirmed by Canada and specific funding allocations have been authorized by the Minister of Alberta Municipal Affairs.

Usage Considerations

As of June 29, 2021, the Gas Tax Fund has been renamed the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) by the federal government, to better reflects the program’s evolution over time. The objectives or requirements of the program were not altered or modified.
