Description

This manual provide the bulk milk grader with the legislative requirements, policies and procedures involved in the collection of quality raw milk from a licensed dairy farm in Alberta. A working knowledge of this information is part of the requirement for a bulk milk grader licence in Alberta. A bulk mild grader is responsible for taking samples of a producer's raw milk for the purposes of monitoring food safety on behalf of the government and Alberta Milk. The samples are used for determining the raw milk’s quality, components, and obtaining data to determine the milk grade. Raw milk refers to milk that has not been pasteurized. The bulk milk grader is responsible for accepting or rejecting the raw milk at a dairy farm.
