Description
A petition from electors was received by the Minister of Municipal Affairs on November 27, 2014 requesting the Minister to undertake an inquiry into the affairs of Brazeau County under section 572 of the Municipal Government Act. In response to this petition, the Minister ordered that an Inspection be completed, and appointed Russell Farmer and Associates Consulting Ltd as Inspectors. The Inspection identified a number of areas of concern with Council and administration. While these matters are significant, they are viewed generally as opportunities to improve process and understanding, and do not qualify as indications that the County is being governed or operated in an irregular, improper or improvident manner.
