Usage Considerations

The Supervisory Framework is intended to align with regulatory and supervisory practices carried out by the federal Office of the Superintendent of financial institutions of Canada (OSFI) for federally-regulated financial institutions, where possible. This is to ensure the consistent application of regulatory duties and responsibilities across financial institutions operating in the Province of Alberta. However, ASFI's approach to regulatory oversight may differ on occasion in order to address unique circumstances that exist in Alberta.
