Description

The Alberta Service Corps was established in January, 1967, with the hiring of permanent supervisor. The expressed purpose of the Corps was two-fold: (1) to meet the needs of economically and socially deprived people in depressed communities in Alberta; and (2) to provide a means for university and technical school students to make constructive use of their idealism, energies and talents.
