Description
The Alberta River Water Quality Index was developed as a way to summarize physical, chemical and biological data into a simple descriptor of water quality. The index is based on values annually for four variable groups: metals, nutrients, bacteria, and pesticides. This record includes the overall water quality index in graph format for all major river systems in the province from 1996 to present.
