Alberta policing oversight standards for municipal police commissions

Description

Police in Alberta are responsible to the citizens they serve for the maintenance of the public peace and the prevention of crime. As guardians of community stability, police organizations must be seen as legitimate and police members must be trusted. The Alberta policing oversight standards were developed in consultation with stakeholders to provide a tool that supports the provision of adequate and effective policing through community input into policing received and oversight of police practice.
