Energizing investment : a framework to improve Alberta's natural gas and conventional oil competitiveness

Description

In response to changes in the marketplace, Alberta Energy led a project team that studied Alberta's investment competitiveness with a focus on upstream natural gas and conventional oil development. The study assessed the ways in which Alberta's competitive share of energy investment has shifted, and the factors contributing to such shifts. It also considered ways in which Alberta can improve its ability to attract natural gas and conventional oil investment. The Government of Alberta reviewed the project committee's resulting Technical Report and has accepted its recommendations on the most effective ways to improve Alberta's competitiveness in conventional upstream oil and gas. This framework outlines the actions that the government will take to improve the province's competitiveness in these areas.
