Description
Monoethanolamine (MEA) and diethanolamine (DEA), part of the alkanolamine product family, have received widespread use in industrial processes and consumer products since their introduction in the late 1920s. However, no soil or groundwater remediation guidelines have been published provincially or federally to date for these amines. This document develops proposed soil and groundwater remediation guidelines for MEA and DEA consistent with the Alberta Environment framework for the management of contaminated sites.
