Description

This guide contains information to help internationally educated and trained immigrants identify realistic work opportunities and make successful employment transitions in Alberta. It will help them find and use information to research the labour market; learn about the requirements of occupations governed by law in Alberta; research new work opportunities; use job search skills and techniques to find work; become familiar with the Alberta workplace; find further information and resources. Immigrants living in Alberta and staff from Alberta immigrant-serving agencies were interviewed in the development of this book. The examples presented reflect their actual experiences. However, some of the individual stories are compilations of the experiences of two or more individuals.
