Backyard composting to reduce organic waste

Description

Composting is a controlled process that turns kitchen, leaf and yard waste into a humus-like material called compost. Compost is a soil conditioner and growing medium. Compost improves plant growth by helping to break down clay soils, making digging easier, improving water and nutrient-holding capacity of soil and adding essential nutrients to soil.
