This resource was developed with the assistance of Grade 6 teachers, students, municipal officials and staff of both Alberta Education and Alberta Municipal Affairs. This resource for municipal officials is designed to support, enrich and extend the experiences that Grade 6 students have in their study of local government. At the heart of this resource are approaches, strategies and tools that encourage citizen involvement and participation – by students, teachers, municipal officials and community members.
