Alberta's irrigation: a strategy for the future

Description

Alberta's agriculture industry, including primary production and value-added processing, is an integral contributor to the province's economic and social well-being.With the world's population expected to reach more than 9 billion by 2050, significant increases in food production will be required. In particular, the demand for high-quality foods, including meat, is increasing as developing world economies grow. These demands will provide opportunities for Alberta's agriculture industry to become an even more important part of the provincial economy. Alberta is well-positioned to help meet the increasing food requirements and economically benefit from the changing global marketplace.
